Ascher Tree Services is a family owned and operated tree and shrub care company formed in 2012. We specialize in natural and organic based solutions to plant health care and tree preservation. We strive to provide science and research-based solutions to the growing demands on our urban forests while at the same time reducing the dependency on harmful chemicals and pesticides. No two trees are alike, and we pride ourselves in taking an individual approach to every property.

An ISA certified Arborist will be on every property
Most people are surprised to learn the there are no licensing requirements for tree work in Ohio. Anyone with a chainsaw or spray tank can call themselves an “Arborist” and do undue harm to your landscape. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) was founded in 1924 and promotes the professional practice of tree work. Hiring an ISA certified Arborist to care for your trees helps property owners know they are working with an individual who has undergone extensive and ongoing training directly related to trees and their wellbeing.
A licensed or trained Pesticide Applicator will be on site when applying nutrients or chemicals to your property.
By law, the Ohio Department of Agriculture requires that any business applying pesticides or chemicals to your property be licensed through the state. This includes ongoing testing, documentation, and storage requirements. We hold separate business and commercial applicator licenses as well as insurance specific to applying chemicals in the state of Ohio.
Choosing natural and organic tree and shrub care
Unfortunately, most tree care companies are heavily dependent on synthetic pesticides, fungicides, insecticides and fertilizers which can often cause long-term problems.
Synthetic fertilizers can lead to increased salt content in the soil, have a negative effect on soil chemistry, contain petrochemicals, decrease root development and leach into water sources.
Synthetic fungicides can lead to decreased soil health by killing beneficial microbes in the soil as well as disrupting the nutrient cycle of soil.
Synthetic pesticides and insecticides can cause broad scale disruptions of our native pollinators, contaminate soil and air, and cause decreases in wildlife populations.
Synthetic chemicals will also stay present in the soil much longer leading to increased risk of exposure for humans and animals long after applications are made
Through extensive research and field testing we have developed tree and shrub care programs which are not reliant on harmful chemicals. Instead of just spraying when a problem comes up, we take a holistic approach to your landscape focusing on overall tree health through the use of natural and organic products designed to stop problems before they start.
Our bio-fertilizer includes natural and organic nutrient rich humates, carbon, seaweed, fish hydrolysates, and beneficial fungi and bacteria all designed to restore the soil around your trees and shrubs. This creates a healthier plant which is better able to withstand changes to its environment.
Natural and organic fungicides/insecticides offer great control against insects and pathogens while at the same time strengthening plant tissue and allowing the tree to naturally withstand infestations.
Simply put, properly timed natural and organic applications are a great way to maintain a healthy landscape while at the same time reducing the amount of harmful and long lasting chemicals applied on your property.
